01 ABB General Performance Motors

Developed from the outset for maximum convenience and easy handling, ABB General performance motors can be used in a wide range of industrial applications. With their straightforward, robust design, these motors are especially suitable for OEMs to build into pumps and fans, as well as for gearboxes, conveyors, general machinery and other applications. Some standard designs are available from stock, while customer and application specific solutions are manufactured to order and can be tailored to meet specific needs. These motors come in frame sizes 56 – 355, corresponding to 0.06 – 355 kW.

02 ABB Process Performance Motors

ABB Process performance motors are tough, high quality products designed for durability in the most demanding environments and applications. They are ideally suited to process industries and heavy duty applications – sectors like mining, cement and paper - where motors have to meet high requirements for reliability, availability and efficiency in harsh conditions, and cover frame sizes 63 – 450, or 0.12 – 1 000 kW. Furthermore, these motors exist in three energy efficiency classes: IE2, IE3, and IE4.

 

 

03 ABB Explosion Proof Motors

ABB’s motors for explosive atmospheres, or so called Ex-motors, comply fully with the ATEX directive 94/9/EC, which sets forth the mandatory duties and responsibilities of the manufacturer of products installed in the European Economic area. In addition to ATEX certification, the global IECEx certificate is available for most ABB Ex-products. National certificates like CQST for China, CU-TR required by the customs union of Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan, or other, can also be ordered for a wide selection of products. 04 Kessler Permanent Magnet AC Motors

The motors can simplify drive systems by effectively eliminating the need for speed reduction devices. They are designed exclusively for frequency converter supply, where they provide high speed accuracy even without speed sensors because they are synchronous motors without rotor slip.
